Session Description
We know the OTC Cares system can feel complex, and we're here to give you the information you need to better understand expectations and processes. In this interactive session, we’ll bust common myths and clarify the real, impactful support we provide to students. We’ll explore the limits, such as emergency fund caps, while also highlighting the great ways we can assist. Join us to gain the insights and tools to help your students thrive within the system’s parameters.

Registration Information
Registration for seminars is required and can be completed in PSRS/PEERS Web Member Services. If you do not have a Web Member Services account, you will need to create one, or you can register by calling the PSRS/PEERS office at (800) 392-6848.

Session Description
If you are within five years of retirement and would like pre-retirement counseling, PSRS/PEERS recommends attending a Retirement Ready Seminar. These seminars provide a thorough overview of the issues important at this stage of your retirement planning.

In-person seminar attendees receive personalized retirement information, including Benefit Estimates based on information provided at registration. For this reason, registration is required.

Topics covered include:
  • Retirement eligibility
  • Calculating benefits
  • Review of the Benefit Estimate
  • Reinstating and purchasing service
  • Benefit plans
  • How and when to apply for retirement
  • Working after retirement
  • Social Security
  • Health insurance after retirement
